Spring is a wonderful time to explore the trails of the Don and its tributaries by bicycle or on foot, but it’s also the time that going off-trail can cause the greatest damage. The damp soil is easier to disturb, and tender young patches of wildflowers (including trillium) can be seriously damaged by trampling. So please keep bicycles on the trails, and, if you go off-trail, walk very cautiously and lightly. This is not a wilderness setting, so wherever you blaze a path, a hundred more are likely to follow.
